Description: To improve vision a micro chip is implanted below the retina. There are 1500 electrodes and circuits for the processing of light signals on this chip. The electrodes take over the tasks of the rods and cones. They convert the incoming light into electrical impulses and transmit them to the neurons within the retina. These forward the signals to the optic nerve which transmits them to the brain where they are processed to vision.
